Event Description:
Welcome to the ultimate haven for miniature hobby enthusiasts' where your creativity knows no bounds. Immerse yourself in hobbying, painting, and crafting as you dive into our Hobby Haven event.
Details:
1. Select a Paint Station with your choice of paint pots from your chosen paint range. Clippers, brushes, and all essentials will be provided. A full paint library of most ranges is available to add to the paint station
2. Select a preassembled and primed mini (while supplies last) to paint or bring your own. We will have paint on primer available or rattle can primer when available.
3. Choose a spot to sit each will have dedicated bright lamps.

Explore Various Paint Lines: Dive into a palette of colors from different paint lines and experiment with endless combinations. Discover new techniques and unleash your artistic potential. Paint lines include but are not limited to The Army Painter, Pro Acryl, Two Thin Coats, Green Stuff World, Turbo Dork, Citadel, TT Combat, Lethal Shadows,
Test Premier Tools: Experience the precision of top-tier brushes, clippers, and glue from various renowned brands. Learn firsthand how the right tools can elevate your craftsmanship.
Craft Your Masterpiece: Every participant will receive a miniature model, courtesy of Games Workshop, Modiphius, or other donated companies (while supplies last). This model will be yours to paint and customize during the event, giving you a tangible canvas to bring your imagination to life. Primed plastic spoons will also be available to test paints on. A selection of extra bits will be provided for general use.
Basing Kit Extravaganza: Embark on a journey to enhance the storytelling aspect of your miniatures using various basing kits from different companies. Explore how different materials and designs can transform your creations.
Expert Guidance: Our experienced hobbyists will be on hand to offer tips, tricks, and guidance as you navigate the world of miniature painting and crafting. Whether you're a seasoned hobbyist or a beginner, there's always something new to learn.
Networking & Community: Connect with fellow hobbyists who share your passion. Swap stories, exchange ideas, and build lasting friendships within the vibrant miniature enthusiast community.

Our History
Storyboard: Building The Emperor’s Promise
- Spring 2017 – Concept art and sketches drawn up by the founding team.
- Summer 2017 – Framework built using PVC, plywood, and modular foam inserts.
- Fall 2017 – Interior corridors detailed with battle damage, decals, and LED lighting.
- Winter 2017–2018 – Test play sessions begin using prototype boards.
- Spring 2018 – Full assembly and transport testing.
- Summer 2018 – Public debut at Eastgate Mall, featured in an interview by a local news station.

The Emperor’s Promise: A Space Hulk Event Like No Other
Step aboard The Emperor’s Promise, a jaw-dropping 20-foot-long, 12-foot-tall, 10-foot-wide custom-built Space Hulk battleship that brings the Warhammer 40,000 universe to life! Designed and constructed by our dedicated and talented crew, this immersive structure splits down the middle to reveal 16 modular playboards, each crafted for cinematic combat. Boards can be played inside the ship or moved to adjacent tables—perfect for epic team games or intimate duels.
First revealed in 2018 at Eastgate Mall with a live interview from a local news station, The Emperor’s Promise has since become a centerpiece of tabletop spectacle. You’ll find it each year at Gen Con, Origins, and other handpicked conventions like CincyCon, CincityCon, and Level Up NJ.

Our Vision
What Is CAGBASH?
CAGBASH is Cincinnati Arsenal Gaming’s annual Warhammer 40,000 tournament and community gathering. It brings tabletop gamers together for a weekend of organized play, impressive armies, immersive battlefields, friendly competition, and shared enthusiasm for the hobby.
Although CAGBASH is a tournament, it is about much more than winning games. Competitive players can test their skills, hobbyists can showcase their painting and creativity, and newer players can experience a large organized event in a welcoming environment. Sportsmanship, fair play, and respect for fellow players are central to the CAGBASH experience.
Every CAGBASH may offer something a little different, but attendees can generally expect:
- Multiple rounds of organized Warhammer 40,000
- Full-size gaming tables with detailed terrain
- Awards recognizing gameplay, painting, factions, and sportsmanship
- Prize support from tabletop gaming companies and community partners
- Opportunities to meet other players and reconnect with old friends
- A friendly community that welcomes both returning veterans and first-time attendees
CAGBASH has grown through the people who attend it. Over the years, it has become a homecoming for longtime players, an introduction to tournament gaming for newcomers, and a place where friendships and friendly rivalries are built across the tabletop.
CAGBASH is hosted by Cincinnati Arsenal Gaming in support of Sanctuary at Homestead, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that uses food programs, practical education, and tabletop gaming to strengthen the community.
