The Holiday Hope Boxes Project helps families celebrate important occasions with nourishing food, thoughtful seasonal support, and the dignity everyone deserves.
Each Holiday Hope Box contains the ingredients for a complete holiday meal selected with quality, nutrition, and family enjoyment in mind. The boxes also include additional items connected to the needs and traditions of each season.
Our Easter Hope Boxes celebrate the arrival of spring. In addition to a complete Easter meal, participating families receive Easter baskets for their children filled with eggs, candy, toys, and other surprises to help create a joyful and memorable holiday.
Our July 4th Hope Boxes combine a summertime cookout meal with support for the coming school year. Families receive essential school supplies—including backpacks, notebooks, pencils, and other classroom necessities—to help children begin the year prepared and confident.
Our Thanksgiving Hope Boxes provide the ingredients families need to prepare and enjoy a traditional holiday meal together. As colder weather arrives, we also provide coats for participating family members to help them stay warm throughout the winter.
Our Christmas Hope Boxes help families create a warm and joyful Christmas celebration. Along with a complete holiday meal, each box includes stockings filled with gifts, treats, and surprises for children and adults.
Holiday Hope Boxes are not assembled from unwanted or leftover food. Our volunteers personally shop for high-quality, nutritious items and thoughtfully prepare each box for the family receiving it.
We understand that every household has its own needs, traditions, and circumstances. Our goal is to offer support with compassion and respect while giving families the opportunity to prepare their own meals, celebrate together, and create meaningful holiday memories.
Through the Holiday Hope Boxes Project, Sanctuary at Homestead provides more than food. We provide practical support, seasonal comfort, and a reminder that every family deserves hope, dignity, and a place at the table.
Sanctuary at Homestead is an independent, nonsectarian nonprofit and is not affiliated with any church or religious organization. Our board, volunteers, and community include people of many faiths as well as people with no religious affiliation.
Our Holiday Hope Boxes are scheduled around widely observed occasions when families may face additional expenses, disrupted schedules, and increased pressure to provide meals and seasonal items. The names of these programs describe their timing and familiar community traditions; they do not represent an endorsement or rejection of any religious belief.
We do not promote religious teachings, require participation in religious activities, or consider a person’s faith when providing assistance. We respect each family’s choice to observe—or not observe—these occasions according to its own beliefs and traditions.
Our purpose is simple: to provide food, practical support, dignity, and moments of joy when families may need them most.

Sanctuary at Homestead is excited to introduce the Sustainable Food Project. This initiative is designed to empower individuals and families to supplement their food sources, learn valuable skills, and adopt healthier eating habits.
Here’s what the Sustainable Food Project entails:
Learning to Plant: We believe that growing your own food is a powerful and transformative experience. We provide seeds, tools, and guidance on how to plant, care for, and harvest a variety of vegetables and fruits. Our goal is to help participants develop a green thumb and a deeper appreciation for nature’s bounty.
Learning to Cook: Preparing your own meals can be a rewarding and creative process. We plan to implement in 2024 to supply a range of recipes. Additionally, we will provide step-by-step instructions on how to prepare delicious and nutritious dishes from scratch. Our aim is to inspire a love for cooking and the confidence to experiment in the kitchen.
Learning to Eat Healthier: Making better food choices is key to overall health and well-being. We supply comprehensive information, practical tips, and ongoing support on how to make healthier food choices and develop better eating habits. Our goal is to promote a balanced diet that is both satisfying and nourishing.
Through the Sustainable Food Project, Sanctuary at Homestead aims to foster self-sufficiency, promote healthy eating, and cultivate a sense of community. We believe that everyone has the right to fresh, healthy food, and the knowledge to grow and prepare it themselves. We encourage meet ups to trade any excess vegetables and fruit with other participants.
